Welcome to Life Anglican Church!
Each person is designed with a deep need for a relationship with their creator which brings freedom and hope.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. ESV - Mark expresses this in chapter 1, verse 15.

God has called us as a church to reach out with Grace and Love. We endeavor to reach out with the Good News that God is near and wants to know us and be known by us. We offer specific pastoral counseling for those stuggling with Sexual Integrity and the their families. Life Anglican offers a safe place to meet God and build healthy life-giving relationships through Individual Pastoral Counseling and Coaching as well as Groups to support healthy recovery based on the rule of life found in the 12 steps.

Through open and honest relationships, we trust that God will grow us into a community that offers the Hope of Freedom from problematic sexual behaviors and the Hope of Healing for families. We strive to share what we have found in our relationships through knowing God, loving one another and giving to meet the needs of our community.

Life Anglican Church is a liturgical church within the Anglican tradition; we are a part of the Anglican Communion in North America. Anglicanism is an expression of Christianity born in the English Reformation and rooted in the ancient faith and practice of the historic church. Anglicanism upholds Scripture as the primary source of authority in matters of faith and practice.

These Scriptures guide us:

Mark 1:14-15  Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of God. He said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”
We believe the "Good News" to our generation is that God is near. He has done everything so that He can be near us and we can have a life giving relationship with Him that changes our relationship with ourselves and others.

I Thess 2:8 Like a nursing mother caring for her own children, with such affection for you we were happy to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
We use our lives as an open example of how God can work in the lives of his people. We love to give testimonies of what worked and didn't work in our relationships with God and others. Growing in an open and honest community of God brings true freedom.

Meet Chris and Jennifer Goers
Building a community based on surrender to God's loving-kindness.

Chris and Jennifer's Christian journey.......
We (Chris and Jennifer) separately came to Christ in our teenage years. Jennifer through church camp and youth events and I through Young Life. During college, I became a Young Life Leader and began my career in Youth Ministry. I became the youth minister at my home church, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Lakeland, FL. I accepted a position of Jr. High Youth Minister at St. Michael and all Angels Episcopal Church in Dallas, TX. That is where I met and married Jennifer. Jennifer became my most faithful volunteer. During our 4 years at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Stone Mountain, Ga, we began to minister as a team full-time.

Shared Life Ministries, Inc. was created in 1996 to carry us into a missionary phase. We jumped into life with those who were out of college and trying to fit faith into life. This led us to realize ordained ministry would allow us to provide a holistic community of care and worship. An education from Regent College, Vancouver, BC, Canada, complimented our desire to reach those far from God through service and community. I was ordained to the priesthood under Bishop Stanton, in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, in June of 2006. From 2009-2012 I served in Mobile, AL as Rector of Holy Spirit Anglican Church. Through Holy Spirit Anglican Church, I was accepted as a priest in the newly formed Anglican Church in North America. We enjoyed being a part of this strong knit community of Holy Spirit and serving O'Rourke Elementary.

Following a calling to serve those on the Eastside of White Rock Lake, we moved to Dallas in 2012. Being a part of the community in East Dallas helped us see that many are so far away from walking into a church that we need walk out and invite people into our homes and lives. This is how we formed Shared Life Community Church. Through this work, God led us to others who are needing the freedom I had found from Porn/Sex Addiction. We formed groups and a community of families who can support each other as we live into the freedom God has bought through Jesus. Jennifer and I have spent 2019-2022 gaining professional training to enhance the work in this area. We are now forming a worshiping community of those looking for safety and healing from trauma and addiction.

Life Anglican Church is part of the Churches for the Sake of Others Diocese under Bishop Todd Hunter. We are building a church of disciples who disciple others and positively impact the community through sobriety and surrender. We welcome others who desire honest and open relationships.

Here is a little bit about the Goers Family
As a family, we enjoy time together laughing, exploring and singing. I (Chris) enjoy running, reading, learning and leading worship. Jennifer loves to entertain people, be outside, read, and meet with people who want to work out the nuts and bolts of relationships. Together we love to encourage couples as they seek a more honest fulfilling marriage.  We have 5 kids. Three are young adults; Hope is artistic and organized. Paul loves art and digital media and John loves languages and singing. Our last two are still in school; Alex is very funny and loves to learn. Grace is a full of life and loves all animals. The other members of our family are - an old, loud, orange tabby named Max, an old, gentle Aussie Mix named Buddy, a princess Havanese named Lacey, a new Mini-Aussie (who isn't so mini) named Gabriel, and a bunch of fish!
